It was hard not to grow excited this week when the news broke that Paramount Studios is making a big-screen movie on the life of legendary quarterback "Broadway" Joe Namath, the former University of Alabama and New York Jets star. The film is initially set to star award-winning actor Jake Gyllenhaal in the role of Broadway Joe. And so, Gump4Heisman couldn't help but wonder what it would look like to cast other notable Hollywood actors as memorable Alabama football figures. Completely original? Probably not. Fun as hell? You bet your panty-hose wearin' ass.
(SIDENOTE: This is a fantasy-cast of sorts. No attention was given to the timelines of actors/players. So a dead actor could play a living 'Bama guy, or vice versa. It may be a young version of a current actor, etc., etc. ... You'll have to suspend belief and have some fun with it...
