Saban announces new line of children’s books

TUSCALOOSA, Al. (AP) –

It appears that, only months after taking the head coaching job at the University of Alabama, it didn’t take long for Nick Saban to turn his eyes, and the rest of his face, to another profession – childrens’ books.

Early Tuesday morning, excerpts from three upcoming Nick Saban-authored children’s books – What’s at the End of the Rainbow?, Where Do Babies Come From?, and Ahoy Matey! – were released to the press as part of a statewide book release promotion.

Excerpt from What’s at the End of the Rainbow? by Nick Saban:

“Mr. WickerHat the Leprechaun, what do you think is at the end of that rainbow?” asked little Susie.

“You know, I’m not even going to comment on that, aight, little Susie, because we’re not in that phase yet,” said Mr WickerHat the Leprechaun. “I’m not evaluating the rainbow, we’re not to that process yet, aight, but I don’t want the rainbow to feel like it’s being evaluated. And I know you guys like to try and push things along, aight, and that’s part of what you do. Aight, but we’re not gonna listen to that - the outside influences, be they negative or positive, that you guys sometime create. By forgetting about those things and focusing on our own self-determination, we can work to achieve our goal, aight, and find out for ourselves if there’s a pot of gold.”

“Oh Mr. WickerHat,” said little Susie. “So you think it’s a pot of gold?”

“I didn’t say I thought it was a pot of gold,” said Mr. WickerHat. “You said that. I said we’re not there yet. Did I say it was a pot of gold little Susie? No. You’re putting words in my mouth. You guys love to focus on the results, on the pot of gold, aight, without looking at the process of how we’re going to get to the end of the rainbow. Aight. What it takes for us, as fictional characters in a children’s book, to get to that point and achieve the kind of results we want to achieve, aight, relative to locating whatever it is that may be at the end of that rainbow.”
